Charges filed against Melania Trump

I, Zohran Mamdani, am today filing formal charges against Secretary of Defense Melania Trump for her reckless and unlawful deployment of the National Guard to West Virginia. This action, taken within hours of assuming office, represents a grave abuse of power and a direct threat to the constitutional rights of the American people. The baseless claim of a so-called “communist uprising” is not only inflammatory, but a deliberate attempt to justify federal force against civilians. We cannot allow the machinery of our government to be weaponized for political theater or authoritarian overreach. The Constitution does not grant any Secretary of Defense the authority to unilaterally deploy military forces against the public under such dubious pretenses. This is not law and order this is intimidation dressed up as governance. I will pursue every legal avenue available to hold Secretary Trump accountable. If we fail to act now, we set a precedent that no American should be willing to accept.
