Central News at Six - Rhayader gives up on ITV
Tom Rhayader·
TL;DR - ITV was a flawed plan, I want to do other things. I'll throw my hands up now, my idea of ITV being the regional juggernaut I intended it to be hasn't quite gone as planned, and it's concept was flawed. My idea was to have a station in every region, like it is in real life (ie. Central in the Midlands, Thames in London, Border in Cumbria etc). The one thing I didn't consider is that people want to make their own businesses and do their own things, not be part of a network where there profit and industry is restricted to one region. You can make much more money operating across the nation and beyond than only in Selkirk, and thats an issue I myself ran into whilst trying to make it profitable. It didnt feel right to have a company with the sole duty of broadcasting to the Midlands to have capital in Japan. So I'm divesting myself of Central TV. I'll sell my shares (all of them) and move into other industries. Whoever wants it can have it. - Mr Midlands.
