The Prime Minister Has Lost Control
Ashton Gilbert·

This week, I have tabled a Vote of No Confidence in the Prime Minister, the leader of my own Conservative Party. Our economy is spiralling downward. Following the Rubio global crash, we now face some of the weakest economic growth in the world. Since my removal as Chancellor of the Exchequer, GDP growth has fallen back to just 1%. At the same time, inequality is rising, poverty remains far too high, trust in government is collapsing, and crime is beginning to increase once again. Britain is heading in the wrong direction. At a time when leadership and accountability are needed most, the Prime Minister has been nowhere to be seen. This is not a step I take lightly, and I am grateful to have the backing of many Conservative colleagues in Parliament. However, we must put the nation first. Britain cannot afford drift and inaction. We must begin rebuilding from the Rubio crash and restore confidence in our economy and our government.
