ABOLISH SALES TAX | IMPLEMENT UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE

The government fiscal crisis is finally over. Debt-to-GDP is down to 89%, a point where US fiscal policy is no longer under immense strain. In fact, the US is running its biggest budget surplus in history. This was welcome when debt-to-GDP was at unsustainable levels, but it is time to unshackle consumers and unleash the American economic miracle. Due to my responsibilities as the Secretary of Energy in the past two administrations, I have not been in Congress for several years. However, I am today calling on my Congressional colleagues to do two things: 1. Abolish the regressive and UNFAIR sales tax that was necessary to avoid a default 2. Pass Universal Healthcare to support our citizens' welfare I believe we as a country are ready to take on this challenge and bring a new age of prosperity to our glorious nation.
