Elections
1994 Bundestag election
The 1994 Bundestag election was viewed as a minor win for the party with a gain of one seat. It also showed shifting priorities within the party as many of the seats now came from western Germany as opposed to the party's old strategy of focusing on appealing to former East German communists.
The party's chair was chosen to represent Berlin in the Bundestag during this election.
