Melania Knauss Trump (born April 26, 1970) is a Slovenian and American former model serving as the Senior United States Senator for Ohio. A member of the Republican Party, she is currently serving as a member of the Republican National Committee and previously served as the Governor of Ohio.
Early life
Melania Trump was born on April 26, 1970, in Slovenia, then part of Yugoslavia. Raised in a modest household, her father worked in the automotive and state-run industries, while her mother was employed in the textile sector, fostering an early exposure to design and fashion. Trump developed an interest in modeling at a young age and began pursuing opportunities in the industry during her teenage years.
She attended secondary school in Ljubljana before briefly enrolling at the University of Ljubljana, where she studied architecture and design. However, she left her studies to focus on a full-time modeling career. Her work took her across Europe, where she gained recognition for her poise and professionalism, eventually leading to opportunities in major fashion capitals.
In the mid-1990s, Trump relocated to the United States to further advance her career. Settling in New York City, she established herself within the competitive modeling industry, appearing in various advertising campaigns and publications. Her experiences abroad and eventual naturalization as a U.S. citizen contributed to a cosmopolitan outlook that would later shape her public persona and political trajectory.
Political career
Trump began her political career as the Chair of the Ohio Republican Party. A close ally of Republican Party Chair Pamela Bondi, Trump won the Ohio Gubernatorial election uncontested. Trump was nominated by President Kimi Antonelli to serve as the first Secretary of Defense after Antonelli's initial nominations were blocked by the Republican Senate majority.
As Chair of the Ohio Republican Party, Trump donated upwards of $1,000,000 of her personal funds into the party, helping the Republican Party gain a majority in the State Senate.
In her first few hours as Secretary of Defense, Trump deployed the National Guard to West Virgina citing a 'left-wing communist uprising' and vowed to 'do everything to restore order to our cities'. The deployment drew national condemnation, with Secretary of Health and Human Services Zohran Mamdani announcing he was filing 'formal charges' for the 'unlawful deployment' of the National Guard to West Virgina. Trump increased the United States military's readiness to 'ELEVATED' (DEFCON 1), stating that American cities were at risk of being 'overrun by America-hating blue-haired vegetarian libtards' who wanted to 'turn the White House into a sex change clinic'. Trump also federalised the Mississippi National Guard upon the request of its Governor in response to a 'rise of left-wing lunatics raiding businesses and homes'.
Trump was dismissed from Secretary of Defense alongside the other Republican elements of Antonelli's Cabinet after the collapse of the Democrat-Republican coalition.
Positions
Trump's political positions have been described as populist or right-wing populist, and favoring an expansion of presidential power under a maximalist interpretation of the unitary executive theory. Staunchly anti-immigration, Trump publicly called on the Antonelli administration to deploy the United States Military to the U.S-Mexico border and redirect healthcare funding to expand the Southern border wall.
She has regularly clashed with Secretary of Health and Human Services Zohran Mamdani who she claims to be a 'fake communist' using his corporation to 'exploit the American people'. Trump has voiced support for repealing the Healthcare as a Human Right Act which she claims to be the sole cause for the American economic deficit. Trump announced her support for Pamela Bondi's candidacy as Federal Reserve Chair, having donated over $2,000,000 to Bondi's election campaign.
Trump sided with the Bondi elements of the Republican Party after Mark O'Rubio failed to advance in the Republican Presidential Primary. She said the election was 'stolen' by Drake Voss, allowing Kimi Antonelli to win a second term in the White House. She has received over $150,000,000 in donations from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, previously voicing her support for relocating the American Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
